London Pre-Wedding | Katherine & Nick
A couple of weeks ago I had the pleasure of meeting Katherine and Nick for their engagement shoot here in London. Being resident in Wapping, I was delighted to join them for a St Katharine Docks engagement shoot, as I am very fond of the area and have shot here before. We actually ended up walking across Tower Bridge (a favourite London landmark of mine) and all along the London Bridge Southbank up to Borough Market. The weather was wet and grey and very typically London, however that did not stop us, although we were huddled up under umbrellas as we were walking along.
Katherine asked me from the start to shoot at St Dunstan – a location I have not been familiar with, nor heard of before – and I am delighted that she introduced me to this little gem of a spot in the heart of the City of London! The ruins of this beautiful church that was destroyed during the Second World War is now a public garden. The tower and steeple that were added at the end of the 1700’s to the designs of Sir Christopher Wren (who designed St Paul’s Cathedral) survived the bombings in 1941 and still remain to be admired today. The quiet and serene courtyards with their beautiful high arches provided such an amazing backdrop for Nick and Katherine’s photos.
It was a fun morning spent in good company and taking in some amazing London scenery along the way. It was also such a pleasure to meet this lovely couple, and I can’t wait to hear all about their small, intimate wedding back in Cape Town, South Africa in January.
