Mykonos Wedding | Hannah & Matt
Mykonos seemed to have been the perfect (almost) halfway meeting point for Hannah & Matt’s wedding. With family and friends travelling from the UK and Australia, where better to meet for a destination wedding than an idyllic Greek island – escaping the southern hemisphere winter, and enjoying a European summer holiday!
After having only spoken via email, I finally got to meet Hannah (and her family) in person at the villa where she was getting ready. Her sister was doing her hair – having specifically learnt how to do “wedding hair” in the months leading up to the wedding. And I have to say – she did a fantastic job! Once the bride was dressed and ready, we headed over to Saint John where the groom and guests starting congregating at the little chapel. Sporting a red dome roof that is synonymous with Mykonos, the courtyard of the chapel boasts some amazing views over the Aegean. When Hannah made her entrance, Matt could not hide his delight in seeing his soon-to-be wife – the joy on his face spoke volumes.
Once the ceremony was concluded, it was time for some drinks to cool down from the heat, before sitting down for dinner as the sun was setting. When it was time to cut the cake, the couple and their guests were treated to a spectacular fireworks show – they were loud, big, colourful… and lots of them! As everybody headed back inside, it was time for dessert and the last speeches, before the party kicked off with Hannah and Matt opening the dance floor. All in all a great day, and very proud that we could play a role in it 🙂
