Santorini Wedding | Aimee & Lee
Santorini is probably one of the most well-known Greek islands. Postcard-perfect with its iconic blue domes and dramatic cliff faces on the caldera, so it is easy to understand why it is a popular destination for weddings! Both from the UK, Aimee & Lee decided to celebrate their nuptials on the island – spending a week of quality time in the Greek sunshine with their close family and friends. It is also not hard to understand why they chose Santorini Gem as the venue for their ceremony and reception. With breathtaking views over the iconic caldera and town lights of Fira and Oia in the distance, venues don’t get more romantic than this!
Something that has really stuck with me from Aimee & Lee’s wedding, was the moment they opened their gifts to each other. Whilst Aimee was getting ready with her bridesmaids and Lee with his brother, Nick and I split up in order to photograph in both rooms. Only afterwards when I was consolidating the images in time order did I realise that they each opened their gifts and reading their messages at exactly the same time! Totally unplanned, and they did not realise it at the time. How coincidental and special!
After their civil ceremony, we went to Pyrgos to take some couple portraits in the traditional little village. Upon our return it was time to cut the cake and for their first dance whilst the sun dipped below the horizon. Following dinner, it was a truly special moment when everybody was treated to an amazing surprise fireworks display. And after that, the party was in full swing – the pictures are a testament to this! As always – enjoy the photos!
